I expect it's a bit awkward for them, and that's what we've learned to expect from this lot - gaslighting, bullying and the propaganda technique known as transfer, or association, to avoid having to grapple with the content. https://twitter.com/janeclarejones/status/1362412091420901382
Anyway, I've read most of it, which I did when it came out, but I'd really like to highlight a couple of bits from the appendix (which should be enough to get women in the streets with pitchforks, actually.) I hope it'll encourage you to read it yourselves - it's great.
Jane traces the relationship between Press for Change in the UK (Stephen Whittle) and ICTLEP in the US - the health project co-ordinator of the latter organisation was one Martine Rothblatt ( @STILLTish !) who was an early sex denialist.
This jolly little cabal decided as far back as 1993 that sex was no longer a necessary category, that gender identity took priority over it, and that no-one could be excluded from spaces / activities based on self-declared gender identity.

Sounds like an AGP Charter to me.
They also decided to "ultimately
determine the course of our culture and civilization", without reference to anyone who might have objections, particularly not women. The bloody boys' club again, and they're still operating just like this. This is elite patriarchal networking.
PFC did much the same thing (1993, 1996), prefiguring the arguments for self-id, as Jane notes. And there's a fair amount of the 'neurological intersex' argument.
Whittle comes up with something called "transgendered ontology" (but it's not an ideology, folks! Nothing metaphysical here!) and then merrily recategorises *everybody* in terms of his new, essentialist concept of gender identity.
You now have a gender identity, peeps, whether you want it or not, much as religious ideologues insist you have a soul so they can tell you how hellbound yours is.
Whittle. Let me explain something to you. You may wish to be categorised in terms of 'gender identity'.

I FUCKING DON'T.

So save it for the people who care about it.

And of course Christine Burns got in on this:
The highhandedness is gobsmacking, and very, very typically obtuse and male in its ignorance of what actually matters to women.
They also maintain that women have 'gained equality' therefore sex has become unnecessary as a taxonomy. No, mate, the gains we've made have been by getting some recognition of the specific pressures we face AS A SEX CLASS, you massive tit.
Ultimately the demand is that gender identity, this new secular religious concept based on harmful essentialist stereotypes, must trump sex in every possible context, because this elite bunch of narcissists want it to. Whether anybody else objects is tough.
As @EveEndor put it, no, we do not want to be shoved into a subjective (and largely meaningless to us) gender category with a bunch of males. That this is being done to us regardless represents the stupefying success of this lobby's capture of our institutions.
And that they've managed to position this, at least in the minds of the gullible woke and the academics who get paid to pretend, as some sort of grassroots rights movement, just adds insult to injury.
It's clear from the final quotes from Whittle that this has been an entirely intentional capture:

"Gender identity becomes and defines legal sex"

"The body's sex...has become redundant".
It's chillingly clear from the document that this has been an intentional, behind-the-scenes manipulation of the legislative process, to rearrange the way people are legally categorised to suit the trans lobby.
The best interpretation is that they didn't think about the impact on women; the worst is that there are a lot of predators in this lobby and the left in particular has been PIEd again. The truth is probably a mixture.
Either way, please do read it and ensure that your MP does too.

Personally I'm up for a little practical demonstration of the importance of sex. I think it's time we give our govts some fairly brutal ultimatums. But whatever your style, this needs to be read by your MP.
Thanks to the authors who put such a huge amount of research and effort into it.
