1/ Who's in charge?!
re: BC Public Health Services Authority. PHSA has responsibilities in 4 areas:
Provincial clinical policy
Provincial clinical service delivery
Provincial commercial services
Provincial digital and information technology

2/ PHSA has 'direct accountability' to the Ministry of Health (but, chuckle, chuckle is arms length and has an 'independent' board - more on that later). Is gov in charge? Who knows.
This year's mandate letter is here: http://www.phsa.ca/about-site/Documents/PHSA%20Foundational%20%20Mandate.pdf

3/ The BC CDC is a program of the PHSA. Everything is, really: http://www.phsa.ca/our-services
4/ Dr. Réka Gustafson, VP, Public Health & Wellness and Deputy Provincial Health Officer is in charge of BC CDC. http://www.bccdc.ca/about/leadership. She wrote that in a pandemic, schools should only close if there is high child morbidity & mortality. Cruella deVil? https://twitter.com/TalkerTeacher/status/1345888649636765696?s=20
5/ But is Dr Gustafson really the BC Deputy PHO? Who is in charge in BC? It's a tangled web they weave. Check out the BC Gov Directory for Office of Provincial Health Officer (and look how easy it is for the public to 'be consulted')
6 / Anyway, back to PHSA Board. Again, recall list of services they oversee (#3 this thread). Here is Board that oversees all that http://www.phsa.ca/about/leadership/board-of-directors. Thoughts?
7/ Oh, and the BC PHSA "No #COVIDisAirborne in BC" public meeting today had 5 people indoors in small boardroom NO MASKS.
Public health staffers on line said nothing.
Pshaw. Rules are for the little people.
1,317 dead & 74,710 infected British Columbians. And climbing.

8/ Answer to question from public regarding plan to reduce case numbers in kids? Nothing. No plan. Re-iteration of 'robust' plans. Blame households & socializing.
So, BC CDC & PHSA 1) unruffled by 10,292 cases in kids 2) believe they know risks, and have no mitigation plan.
