Thanks everyone who joined me @noisymonkey's webinar today (we did enough promo for it, I think, @claire_dibs🙉!)

Just wanted to give you a quick overview of what @MrJonPayne and I chatted about - but don't worry, the replay AND a blog will be sent out early next week!
*First General Marketing Tip*
Get a dog, involve them in every bit of public speaking/client calls/camera related work that you do!

The Chief and Bramble both joined during the intros and attendees shared their animal companions name. My favourite was Andre the Giant Pyrenees 😍
Okay. On to email stuffs. We started with the key to effective email marketing, understanding your audience!

> DO THE MARKET RESEARCH 🤓
> Create anti-personas, those people or businesses who are just not quite a good fit due to behaviours or demographics. @MrJonPayne added the FANTASTIC example of talking to your Sales Team & see who they don't want to sell to again!😎
Next up, we talked about email engagement rates.
> By understanding your audience, you can better target and personalise your email journeys.🤩

🚀 Use a name in your subject line sees an av 26% increased open rate
📈 Emails segmented to user interest see a 74% higher click rate
> Make sure your departments talk to each other. SOME COMPANIES get you involved in so many workflows you end up getting dozens of emails each week.👎

- You can give your audience the power to decide WHEN and WHAT they want to see you in their inbox... 👍
> Offering opt-outs & different send frequencies is easy.

So glad to see more and more companies offering opt-outs for certain times of the year like Mother's Day or Valentines, which may be hard. (shout out to @BloomandWild @thortful @OliverBonas) 🧡
Finally we chatted about a couple of email trends:
> 🎥 Video is becoming increasing important across marketing channels and email is no different! Use images or gifs to get people to watch your awesome content.
> The rise of personal marketing. Getting an evangelist is ace!
🤩 Look at @kdlafrance at @Shopify, @savvyluke at @HubSpot for its CMS and now, hot off the press, @lovevalgeisler joining @klaviyo! They all have an engaged audience and the brands will be so much stronger and have a wider reach with them on board! 🚀
But you can do this with your company too - give it some personality, a face, some flavour. You got this!! 🐒
