In a small community in Nor Cal, a preposterous made a false accusation that a “sex Offender w/cannibalistic tendency was moving into the community” to strike fear & outrage in a effort to create news. The owner of the property hired an attorney and demanded the news org correct
It’s fake reporting. This man wasn’t moving in, in fact he had lived there for less than a month and moved to a new location months ago. They news org continued to repost their original story multiple times, even after being made aware of their false statements.
The Homeowner Association found out the truth and spoke with the owner of the property and contacted the media as well for them to correct their reporting, & invited them to a zoom community meeting. The attorney representing the home owner has also been invited to attend & Speak
Last night, the news organization stated that the man no longer lives there and moved out, but still referred him as a “cannibal” (never charged or convicted of such activities), but decided to throw three men living at the home that are required to register under the bus.
They have no ethics. They just want to spread fear and panic. A woman in the community bought into the fear, unaware that the biggest threat to her family is someone she trusts with her children- family, teacher, faith leader, scout leader, coach, babysitter, etc..
How I wish I could speak to that woman and others in the community to share how the registry doesn’t stop or prevent abuse, but simply gives people a false sense of security.
Will report more tomorrow about this drama, after the Zoom event tonight.
