If your QB can’t handle competition, I’m not sure you really have a QB. Hard to fault Roseman for drafting Hurts, but also if you’re going to fire Doug AND get rid of Wentz, I’m not sure you can point to a legit master plan in all of this. https://twitter.com/tim_mcmanus/status/1362452692308746246
The culture of most teams doesn’t seem to lend itself to continuity planning, worst case scenarios being drawn up and fully accounted for etc. It’s really strange to me, since that’s all pretty much management 101.
If there was a plan, I’m not sure how you draw something like this up and it makes any sense:

Best case:
Draft Hurts
|
Wentz plays
like petty Rodgers
|
Profit

Worst case:
Draft Hurts
|
Wentz plays
like Jeff Driskel
|
Fire Doug and trade Wentz
As far as Indy goes, they’re nearing the end of their “window” (arbitrarily defined by me as the end of the cheap contracts for their good young players) and need to roll the dice on veteran QBs.
But what a wasted opportunity when they rolled out Brissett for a full szn rather than tank.
