Boomers: "You can't cancel $50k in student debt. I paid for my degree!"

It also only took you a summer to pay off your degree, and will take students 10+ years now.

This is also what they're doing with housing.
I say this as someone that paid their tuition (multiple times!) by having an after school, and sometimes before school, job.

What's the point of having advanced education, if they're so loaded with debt they can't take risks at new jobs? Student debt is a drag on growth.
I know some Boomer is going to read this and say, "they can do what you did!"

So many points, but I was one of those giftie nerds. I learn in a very short amount of time. Most people can't, and they shouldn't jeopardize a whole degree to reduce debt.
Even if you wanted to look at it from a psychopathic, who cares about kids. Growth comes from risk.

By having kids so saddled with debt they can't take risks. If they don't take risks, they miss out on max earnings. This is a loss to productivity, consumption, and tax revenue.
Yes, I did just say your taxes can go up by *not* paying for advanced education.

Debt is future income used today. It diverts near term consumption, slowing economic growth. By reducing it, you can build more high velocity and bigger economies.

Booming economies can lower taxes
"but Stephen, you can't stand kids! Why do you keep arguing for more resources for them?!"

Because they grow up, and become adults. Then I need to deal with their dumb asses doing things like promoting fossil fuels, because they don't understand huffing gas is bad.
In conclusion, I have realized this was a selfish rant.

I'm tired of dealing with dumb adults that become politicians, and the people who love them.

Also I'm willing to pay more in taxes short-term, to avoid long-term and unsustainable tax hikes in the future.

So, you got me.
