Billionaires are policy failures. @AlexLasryWI ’s accumulation of wealth is inherently anti - progressive. You cannot be that wealthy without exploiting the systems that subjugate the working class. So acting as if you are the progressive champion is hypocritical at best.
Wisconsin does not need a hedge fund billionaire as a Senator. We need a working class candidate with the lived experience of Wisconsin. Alex Lasery is a bad choice.
It’s important to point out that it is family wealth; that he is the son of a hedge fund owner who owns much of Puerto Rico’s debt, that his family has heavy investments in fracking, and just moved here. His resume is not what Wisconsin is, or needs.
Additionally, Wisconsin is the most segregated state in the country. Any candidate for Senate needs to answer: how are you best going to serve disenfranchised, poor Black Wisconsinites? How will you represent them? Is that a question a wealthy white man can answer — I don’t know.
