LINCOLN PROJECT THREAD: My friends in the UK and EU have repeatedly asked me what the Lincoln Project is and why we're all talking about it on Twitter. I put this thread together to help explain what the organization is all about and why it matters.
2/ President Trump's candidacy presented a clear and present danger not only to the 'political class' but also to the 'political business' in America. Thousands of political consultants and strategists make their living working on campaigns and in administrations.
3/ President Trump wasn't buying it and failed to hire and appoint the 'right' people. Trump was threatening their livelihood and their way of life by getting elected without their help. As a result, a small group of disgruntled political consultants formed Project Lincoln.

5/ The problem with founding an organization on hatred and spite is that it isn't long before it is consumed by evil. 7/ So who are the people behind the Lincoln Project's campaign of hate and spite? Some of the co-founders like Jennifer Horn, Ron Steslow, Reed Galen, and Mike Madrid seemed to have been caught up with personal enrichment while others (see below) truly hated the president.
8/ Lincoln Project Co-Founder George Conway lives in Trump Tower and asked to be appointed Solicitor General. 9/ Lincoln Project Co-Founder Steve Schmidt resigned from the Republican party and denounced President Trump when he moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. From that day forward Steve sought to destroy America's "Zionist President".

10/ Lincoln Project Co-Founder John Weaver was a political consultant to Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corp and as a result of his ties to the Russian company even after his resignation, he was not offered a position in Trump's administration angering the political consultant.
11/ Lincoln Project Co-Founder Rick Wilson was a political strategist & presidential appointee under President Bush. Wilson famously called Trump supporters Neo-Nazis basically ending his career in the GOP. Upon Trump's election, he sought to destroy him.
