1. So far there have been no #Ebola cases found in countries that neighbor Guinea, where the disease has re-emerged recently nearly 5 years after the massive West African Ebola outbreak, @WHO's @SoceFallBirima reports.
2. @DrMikeRyan says both the 1-dose Merck #Ebola vaccine & 2-dose J&J vax may be used in the Guinea outbreak. The Merck is used in ring vaccination, protecting people who've been in contact with a case. But the J&J could be used to protect HCWs further afield in case it spreads.
3. Guinea is getting about 20,000 doses of #Ebola vaccine, from the international stockpile, run by @gavi and from the US strategic national stockpile.
4. I hope I'm not being naïve, but I'm heartened by the fact the case count in DRC remains at 4. During the 2018-2020 outbreak there, lots of people were infected with #Ebola or vaccinated against it; hopefully that will help contain spread now. Heavily populated region, though.
