Keep RIM in mind when you're designing for distance education.
Design for regular interaction between the teacher and student.
Teachers initiate the the interactions. Students may not have the self-advocacy skills to reach out and ask for help. Don't wait for them to come to you - go to them.
Interactions and experiences should be meaningful and related to the academic and social-emotional learning intentions.
