Self-Awareness:

Why it's of paramount importance and how to achieve it.

-Thread-
Self-awareness is the first step one should take in their quest to self-mastery.

People who are self-aware fully comprehend and understand the reasons that drive their behavior.

They know and realize everything right and wrong about themselves.
If you can point out what you do right, you can build your self-confidence around those positives

On the other hand developing awareness of one's weaknesses and insecurities sets you on the right track to improve and change

Self-awareness sets a starting line.

A guiding light.
How can one become more self-aware?

Here are some practices that I have been doing for years:

-Meditation
-Reflection on past events and journalling
-Setting up alternative reactions to my impulsivity
-Constantly correct, note down and set objectives

This works.
Whatever you think your problem is at first sight, it is probably a deeper scar that is affecting your behavior, not the apparent issue itself.

Understanding our trauma and what lead us to develop instinctive reflexes and reactions (subconscious ones)
Self-awareness allows one to transcend the subconscious mind's influence

It sets one in the perfect conditions to fully and consciously take control of their actions.

It allows you to stop being a sheep and opens up your eyes on EXACTLY who you are.
