How To Conquer Imposter Syndrome In Your Career.

Tips for those who want to be great, but feel like a fraud.

// THREAD //
You've got the skills. Everyone acknowledges it.

Yet, you feel self-doubt and inadequate regularly.

This is especially true for those who've just received praise,

got a promotion or started a new business for themselves.

I've been there. Here's how I fixed it:
1. Reframe Negative Thoughts

The difference between those who feel like imposters

and those that don't? They think different thoughts.

That is good news. You can control your thoughts.

Don't say 'I don't know what I'm doing'.

Say 'Ok, I'm going to learn a lot here'.
2. Let Perfectionism Go

The system collectively turned us into perfectionists.

Guess what? Your co-workers aren't perfect, your competitors

aren't perfect, and you are not perfect either. Accept it.

Making mistakes is the best way to learn.

Forgive yourself for mistakes.
3. Record Your Wins

I used to focus on the negative. A lot of us do.

Start journaling daily on ALL your wins.

Compliments, awards, social proof, testimonials.

I promise you, you will have them and they will help you.

Need validation? Just open your journal.
4. Fear It & Do It Anyway

You know what triggers you. Acknowledge it.

Understand you will never become comfortable unless you

have the courage to do it anyway.

Yes, you will still experience fear about new opportunities.

But at least you're allowing greatness to happen.
5. Criticism Builds Or Destroys

Non-imposters see criticism as actionable data and always

look for honest feedback from those that inspire them.

Imposters allow feedback to crush them.

Next time someone praises you say 'thanks, what's 1

thing I can improve upon?'

Simple.
6. Bonus Tip:

Get help. A coach. A psychologist. A Course.

I understand it's an investment.

But know that the cost of not fully grabbing all opportunities

in life will end up costing you exponentially more.
