Good morning, kind folks.
Zig asked me to shine some light today after being irritated for a few days (for whatever reason) so, I will be sharing a few stories of the homeless people we have encountered. These stories are of hope and not of despair..

I'd like to start by pointing out one important thing, there are homeless folks that aren't standing on exit ramps or in parking lots with signs asking for $... there are many who come to be this way and try their best to adapt & just survive. They don't want hand outs or pity.
There was a gent we befriended that had a make shift shanty by the RR tracks..he chose that spot because the trees kept him hid & the RR didn't force him to leave. He showed respect as well...you didn't see garbage thrown about. He would walk into town each day to do ..
Small odd jobs, he had made many friends in our little town. He would help do just about anything..in return he got a meal & a few dollars for his bottle of whatever to go back with. This man would light up when you addressed him..his smile was radiant and real..
He would always say something that made you wanna hug him.. point being- he was content.. I remember the locals running a make shift electric line to his shanty when he his age took over. It made it harder for him to get out and do things..folks gave him a little TV..
He loved it, he could pick up the local channel (25 out of hagerstown, md)
he burned coal in a little pot belly stove, and one winter the cold took him.
the reason I'm sharing this is because even in his position that many would view as unfortunate.he was happy & he shared it
he burned coal in a little pot belly stove, and one winter the cold took him.

You never heard him complain... you always received a smile from..no matter.
There is a mighty difference between homeless & grifters....
One begs because they feel slighted by the world...the other one says, "watch me survive"
/fin/end.
