SHALIGRAM ORIGIN AND THEIR TYPES WITH DEVTAS REPRESENTATIONS

For Shaligram origin first we need to know story of Tulsi, She was wife of demon Shankachur who was immortal until her wife'Pati vrat dharm was broken
by Vishnu ji(No Obscene here because as per Devi puran 9.23.26 Shankh is known as Hari Adhishthan swaroop i.e Hari itself and Devi puran 9.17.7/8 Tulsi is said to be Lakshmi Ansh i.e Lakshmi itself hence they are Hari and Lakshmi itself, many people misquote this
and make propaganda against Sanatanis).

Shiva then can killed demon Shankachur. Tulsi cursed Vishu ji that he will become a stone. Shiva then told Tulsi that in earth you will be in 2 forms
1)Tulsi plant
2)Gandaki river

Tulsi plant is known as very auspicious plant.
Gandaki river is the place where Vishnu became stone in a big mountain form & the stones broken from there became #Shaligram. Without offering Tulsi leaf in Shaligram is inauspicious for married life. Shankachur became shell thanks to Shiva
Shiva blessed Tulsi that you can still have romantic life with your husband. He told Shankachur will become Shank(Shell) which is found in river.

Hence it is known as very auspicious if we do pooja of Shaligram, Shank & Tulsi together.
