It’s time for another Thursday Throwback! Today I look back on my @SouthEastPro clash with @RJSinghIsKing -match No.3 in my fledgling wrestling career!
As 2016 became 2017- @CoachWicked explained that I’d be doing the double on the next show, with my first match being a clash against esteemed BritWres vet @RJSinghIsKing The show would also see me make my first poster! Look at my big grinning mug next to all those game faces!
I was a tad nervous going into this one. Up and till now I’d mainly faced fellow trainees and RJ was the first name I’d ever faced. Luckily he put me at ease from the get go and planned a match that was easy enough to follow for this greenhorn.
I was still doing the SouthEast Superman gimmick at this point. Here I am surveying the scene on the entrance ramp
This great shot from @olisandler is one my faves! Look at that cape flowing in the wind! I also like the shot of the mum behind me trying to poke me on the bum!
During the test of strength RJ yelled out ‘SON OF JOR-EL!!! KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!!!’ in a voice that would make Terrance Stamp proud.
I full of corpsed at that one and had to hide my face as best as I could.

Unfortunately that no good cheating King would stun-gun me on the ropes. He then proceeded to beat me from pillar to post.
It wasn’t all bad though-here’s RJ practicing a spot of amateur dentistry

After absorbing a vicious knee to the face-I was able to rally back with my top-rope head scissors (yes, believe it or not Superman used to fly!
)

Unfortunately my comeback came to a screeching halt thanks to @RJSinghIsKing ‘Ethnic Submission’ which through a freak miracle I was able to claw out of!
Learnt an important lesson here-backstage RJ asked me if I was familiar with the ‘Angel Wings’ I said I was, even though I wasn’t. I botched the first attempt from RJ. Luckily he covered brilliantly and we got it on the second attempt.
Lesson Learned: If you’re not sure, ask!

Finally we came to the finish-I won by fluke when RJ showed referee 1Fan Dan. Dan showed back and RJ fell backwards over me (playground style). I quickly rolled up his majesty and scored another win!
Here’s the ‘Power Section’ cheering the win! You can see @TomWaghorn1 is certainly thrilled. You can also see my partner Sarah’s arm holding up the Will Power sign! @RaeScr applauding and my Nan who Was thrilled to see me finally excel in something sporty
