THREAD We are delighted to hear that hard copies of The Political Erasure of Sex are reaching intended recipients. It is vital politicians/policy makers base decisions on material reality & evidence. Thank you @JaneClareJones @lnmackenzie1 and @SelinaTodd https://thepoliticalerasureofsex.org/
We are proud to have supported research for this project. We are grateful to all our supporters whose donations have enabled us to print and post this copy and get it into the hands of our political representatives. Thank you to @UniofOx for its support https://www.history.ox.ac.uk/women-and-equalities-law-historical-perspectives-present-issues
But you don’t have to be a politician or a policy maker to read this report. Literally anyone can download it here. It’s not quite the same as a beautiful hard copy, we know, but the information is the same and it is compelling. #SexMatters https://thepoliticalerasureofsex.org/
Policy must be made carefully and inclusively. Sex is a protected characteristic in the Equality Act 2010. Erasing sex and failing to collect sex data must be challenged. Please contact your MP/MSP/MS to check they have received and read the report. https://womansplaceuk.org/2021/02/10/sex-and-the-census-call-to-action/
Luckily there is a growing movement of women who are committed to putting this right. #Census2021 gives us all a chance to make our voices heard - website with guidance launching on Sunday 21st February http://shorturl.at/gptJ8
