It's LGBT+ History Month and we're here to make sure you know your stripes (railway style)! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

From trainbows to buggy-bows, here are five of the flags that have graced the rails. [THREAD: 1/8]

[2/8] This 'buggy-bow' is adorned with your basic Rainbow Pride Flag, comprised of six colours. Designed by American artist and gay rights activist Gilbert Baker.

[3/8] Stepping up the game, in comes @MCRMetrolink with this contactless scanner. This eight colour flag is known as the Philadelphia Flag, created in 2017 to give representation to Black people and people of colour.

[4/8] Now we're talking! The aptly named 'Progress' train by @AvantiWestCoast is covered in the Progress Pride Flag colours, which combines the colours of the Philly flag with the transgender pride flag.

[5/8] Which brings us onto the Transgender Pride Flag, seen here raised high above the (former) Transport for London HQ. Designed by Monica Helms in 1999, it celebrates a range of trans identities, including non-binary, genderqueer and more.

[6/8] And finally, this rather fetching roundel uses the colours of the Bisexual Pride Flag, created by Michael Page. This was just one of the LGBTQ+ roundels introduced by @TfL in 2019.
