I asked @madan_kumar once, "how you are able to handle workshops, travelling different cities, talking for 8 hours straight", not an easy task, making few lacs from workshop was definitely not a driving factor for him, he said its the impact that he makes on people's life, 1/n https://twitter.com/madan_kumar/status/1362229034164260866
Let me tell you a kutti story about how I met Madan, how it immensely changed my perception not only towards trading but also towards Life. 4 years before I accidently read this post on traderji about a Trader's meet up in Chennai, ended up meeting Madan for first time.
It was in March 2017 at Besant Nagar beach, 10-12 guys showed up from various parts of city. Started around 4:30pm, ended up at 10 pm. But he was more of a listener than a speaker. He observed everyone & able to predict, half of these people wont turn up next time.
He was damn right, only handful of folks showed up next time. Its because majority of people who came for the meet was looking for some holy grail strategy, whereas we never talked about strategy at all. So that put them off. Few of us continued to show up just to listen to Madan
@ramvarman travels 350kms from his place just for this meet up. We feel lazy going to next street, but travelling such long distance, showed how serious people are who comes to these meetups, that even shocked @madan_kumar. We discuss for 5 to 6 hours on all topics
I take notes in the meet when he speaks, still have all these notes with me where he mentioned that he takes workshop for emotional satisfaction. About passive income, about volume's importance, max dd, losing streaks etc. Everything Madan talks about will be in diff perspective
I remember, Madan was explaining about his friend who quit high paying job and moved to his village to trade full time. His mother who is a college principal worried about her Son's decisions. But few years later, she met one of her students at a temple who works at I.T. office
She was talking to this student and was worried about his Son who quit job and trading now, but the guy who works at the Income Tax office told her not to worry at all, because "Your son is the only person in this Jilla who pays advance Tax"
These real time life stories that he shares during these meetups was so motivating. He is such a positive attitude guy, who doesn't advice you anything, he just shares what he has gone through in his life, just being around him spreads so much of positivity.
He always emphasize on staying disciplined in everything in life, only then you can become a disciplined trader. Realized that just hitting the gym consistently can make you a better trader. Going for that morning walk every day can make you a better trader.
The thought process, knowledge I gained, lessons I learnt from him in all these meetups, I wont get that even with tons of books or hours of video. My heartfelt thanks to you @madan_kumar 🙏
