I’m not hip to all the testing protocols. However, if you’ve received a positive covid test, the following should happen

First of, where can a government approved covid test be done?
Baywest Hospital, they also provide tests at our two airports
Technologic solutions kgn and Montego Bay
MicroLabs island wide - arrangements can be made through @MDLinkHealth
any health centre or hospital

Government tests are free of charge. The rest attract a charge.
These institutions offer both the antigen (rapid) test and the RT-PCR. Both are accepted. Once the antigen test is positive, no further testing is required to diagnose #SARSCoV2
How ever if it is negative and the criteria is met for severe acute respiratory illness or influenza like illness, a RT-PCR will be done. That takes some time
If you are positive, that is reported to your public health department in your parish to facilitate
contact tracing
follow up

If you aren’t contacted by the public health or contact tracing, please reach out the the @themohwgovjm through the 888-ONE-LOVE hotline or reach out to the facility you were tested in to obtain a copy of your results and to ensure that reporting is done
If you have any of the following, CALL AHEAD to the nearest hospital and ask to be seen urgently
shortness of breath
oxygen saturation (with a digital pulse oximeter) persistently below 90%

Arrange for a sick leave from work for 14 days and an exit examination to determine your fitness to return to work.
You should be seen by physician to check for long lasting effects of covid. Repeat testing is no longer necessary.
