1/ Lockdowns were ordered last March because “exponential” growth in Covid cases was going to overwhelm hospitals. Within months, if not weeks, it was clear that all of the modeling used to justify the lockdowns was off by several orders of magnitude.

2/ Instead of admitting error, government and health officials claimed that they had controlled the virus, and that they would continue to control it with test and trace and masks.

The summer surges had the perverse effect of convincing them that masks stop the spread of Covid.

3/ Then came the winter surges. Then the winter surges went away.

All known acute respiratory viruses are seasonal. Covid is an acute respiratory virus.

Epidemiologists don’t understand why or how seasonality operates, so ignored it in their models.

4/ Public health officials persist in claiming that they control Covid with their lockdowns and masks and models and handwashing and “social distancing.”

In fact, like all respiratory viruses, Covid spreads in a stochastic, seasonal pattern. It is beyond their control.
