The problem is tipping. Put the true price of the delivery into the advertised price. Make it illegal to not do so. This guy is clearly trying to make ends meet. Would he better off on unemployment insurance? Possibly. That raises the other problem. The US needs to adjust its welfare system. This guy is trying but he is still likely going to be homeless again. It's called *welfare*. Look it up
Tipping culture is one of the dumbest things in America. Just pay people living wages from the get go. "But but it encourages good service." You know what else encourages people to be good at their jobs? Not getting fired. Let's pay politicians with tips and see if they improve.
