Republicans really are just running on a platform of “we will kill all of you for money” and millions of people love it, because they think “all of you” doesn’t include them, and they think they’ll get a cut.

Hard to escape the conclusion that Perry is right; that freezing to death in your house alone is literally better to Republican voters than having to endure the psychological torment of acknowledging that we live in a shared society.

It's the same thing. Imagine living in Texas¹, constantly hearing elected Republicans on national TV volunteering you for death, knowing they'll be re-elected by your family and neighbors, who keep voting to kill you.

Imagine Rick Perry saying "Texans are willing to die of cancer rather than allow federal money to go into cancer research."

It's not different. It's only acceptable because people keep voting for it, captured by the foundational lie that society doesn't exist.

The only reason Republicans can campaign on "we will kill you for money" is because we have believed these lies as a society.

Some are eager for these lies and conclusions.

Others simply don't interrogate their beliefs.

Kill the lies within yourself first, then without.

You kill lies by telling truths.
