let’s say we fast forward X years, you can buy enhanced VR/AR in contacts, synthetic tympanic membrane, nasal digital filters, advanced tactical suits, & have recessed *treadmill* areas in your apt
& everything is able to switch from AR to VR & back
& everything is able to switch from AR to VR & back
in that environment, there will be evolutionarily pressure to use the devices more & more
limit case is 24/7 wearables
extreme is doing this from birth (not saying good or bad but it will be an advantage so at minimum this is a possibility)

our neurons will become highly attuned to this new reality, if done from birth, it may be better than any physical device because information is substrate dependent - you don’t have to physically touch the neurons - to directly connect to the grid
at that point, what will it mean to get hacked?
what will art look like?
what will identity be?
what happens to the concept of time?
where will you be when there?
here or somewhere else or nowhere or everywhere?

not sure when all of this happens, battery tech is a massive limiter, not to mention other things, but everything is already on a pathway in that direction
(nasal sensors not yet but we could use those for signaling & detection mechanisms so will likely get done)

I am not sure but think it would not be a crazy prediction to hit this by 2040s
(musings off of thinking about concept of AR art which is already odd but like the original Atari)
