23 project in the queue. Plus, y’know, life stuff.
Somehow, it’s still not enough to make a steady living and there aren’t enough hours in the day.
Feeling really overwhelmed today.
This is why I’m constantly advocating for freelancers to get paid.

Side note: @/cypheroftyr broke down how she looks at rates for a project recently (one streamed show works out to about 21 hours of working hours per person over a month, w/more for DMs). I strongly encourage people to think about that when building out budgets.
I have 11 hours of meetings/streamed events total tomorrow and Friday. I also have to fit in a doctor’s appointment, writing up a few invoices, reading game material, turning in deliverables, and brainstorming in advance of those meetings.
Plus, replying to emails, reviewing material coming in, etc.—all things that can’t be done while on stream/in meetings. Switching gears between.
Ppl wonder why we are so unbelievably busy ALL the time when the only visible product is a few hours of public streams. This is why.

Evenings are booked every single night. Friends/family who work normal hours get frustrated that they don’t get to catch up.
I love this work, but it can be VERY tough, and cutting back is impossible when jobs often pay $50/$100 each, if at all.

I feel so, SO fortunate to do what I do. But it requires a degree of financial stability that absolutely becomes exclusionary for poor or marginalized communities, people who need to support families, etc. and I’d love to see that change.
Anyway, it’s a stressful day at Jen HQ, and I know that what I’m dealing with is NOTHING compared to what everyone who is coping with the storms has to face rn. (See my RTs from last night for ways to help those in TX, etc.)
