The House is currently considering amendments to HB1001, the state budget.

There are 43 amendments filed.
The first amendment is a technical amendment from Rep. Brown, the bill's author.

The second is an increase for a domestic violence victims fund from Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville)

Both pass.
The next amendment will not pass. It's from Rep. Greg Porter (D-Indy) and would increase K-12 tuition support funding by $300 million.

That makes up for a cut, Porter says, made during the recession (from a decade ago).
Rep. Brown opposes the amendment, saying increases in K-12 education funding over the last decade have more than made up for the cut.
The next amendment, from Rep. Ed Clere (R-New Albany) would change how special education funding is calculated (in an effort to potentially increase that funding).

Rep. Brown supports the amendment (meaning it will pass).
Another amendment from Rep. Porter.

This one is a huge amendment, essentially laying out how House Democrats would've written the budget.

(It will not pass.)
