Hi everyone - I have some news!
Next Tuesday (2/23) is my last day @azcentral. I started reading The Arizona Republic at age 13, when I first moved here. Covering K-12 education here has been a dream and an honor.

When I moved back here in 2015, I was a bit of a mess. I'd quit a disastrous job in broadcast. I thought I was going to quit journalism. Instead, somewhat by chance, I ended up @Cronkite_ASU. My professors and my peers reminded me how much I love writing and reporting.
I've loved traveling to schools in every corner of this state, even when a trip required for-wheel drive. I've loved learning from my colleagues. This past year has been the most challenging of my career.
It's hard to know when it's time to leave a job like this. As I contemplated a new opportunity, I realized I'll never quite feel done with ed reporting here. But I'm confident @azcentral will find someone to pick up my list where I'll leave off.
What's next? My last day is Tuesday. I'm finishing up a project here I can't wait for you to read. Then I'm taking a few days to rest. New gig starts (remotely for a bit) on 3/1, then I plan to move in about a month or two. I'm excited to share the next step!
