Let me clarify a few things about where I stand:
I was a very active Bernie campaign supporter in 2016.
I am the daughter & granddaughter of proud union employees who sacrificed to serve this city.
My allegiance is always to the most vulnerable in society.

Nothing said above is contradictory.
If you believe in classist lockdowns, school closures, and that the needs of a powerful, organized special interest group should outweigh the broad needs of the population, then you are the person who has abandoned progressive values.

If you care more about the "feelings" and "anxieties" of a single profession (who happens to be among the most privileged in the US, both demographically & w/ wages, benefits, perks, & protections) than you care about children, then you are not aligned to progressive values.
If you care more about tribal politics, and being ostracized from a group of people you thought shared your values, than you care about your actual values, then you are probably a hypocrite.
If you care more about protecting a political party, or a political candidate, than you do about electing someone who will enact policies that are aligned to your values, then you are also a hypocrite.
People very easily become single issue voters when an issue is THAT important

Finally, if you have spent the last 11+ months without having read a single study, or learned to interpret a chart, or applied critical thinking skills to the information you have been fed, then you have also abandoned progressive principles in favor of dogma.
