Reflecting on the Premier's misogynistic comment to @AndreaHorwath this morning and it got me thinking about how we've let him get away with terrible language. And shrugged it off as "Oh, that's so folksy!" As the leader of our province we should demand more. #onpoli
Why is it that instead of calling him out on suggesting sexual assault as a solution to get what you want - remember that very disturbing firecracker comment - it was laughed off as that's just him expressing his frustration! So folksy!
As the leader of a province, show some leadership and have some respect. No one, especially not a Premier, should get away with using an analogy of sexual assault to explain how he would "get something". No matter how frustrated he may be. Find other ways of expressing yourself.
Stop using language that is misogynistic, sexist and violent. That's all. We can all make that decision and choose our words carefully. We all find ourselves in moments where we are frustrated. As leaders, it is up to us how we choose to express ourselves, to lead by example.
