Even though the pick is top 4 protected, here's my pro-tanking argument:
1. call it selling, not tanking. EG's trade value may never be where it's at right now. VO, PJ, Nwaba, Brown are expiring. You won't be doing anything meaningful this season regardless- sell while you can.

2. The Thunder are tanking, we all know that, but Miami is in a BAD spot right now. 11-16 record, can't get healthy, we're all too familiar with it. 45% of the season has passed.
3. This draft is STACKED. It's the right long term strategy even if you lose your pick.

4. Christian Wood wants to win. And sure he wants to do it this season. But you'll have 2 more seasons to show him what this team is about while selling this year. Hell this roster isn't constructed to endure injuries AT ALL.

So you won't suck completely, meaning you could still make the play in because you'll be getting vets in return.
So yeah it wouldn't be tanking, more like selling. Make sure you maximize value. It just makes more sense. Gordon's not gonna shoot 62% on 2s forever lol
