Liberals who didn’t listen to Rush, and just read the Media Matters accounts, never understood how *funny* he was. What set him off from his many imitators was how wildly entertaining he was, and the absolutely unbreakable bond he formed with his listeners.
He was always a humble man who was incredibly personally generous. Her performed countless acts of kindness that we’ll never hear about
And he fought his cancer at the end with the heart of a lion, determined, true to his calling, to stay on air as much as possible and always deeply grateful for prayers
We’ve lost a giant, who mastered and re-made his medium and left a deep imprint on our politics and media. RIP
