Parents who want their kids in school don't want it because they're tired of dealing with them. They want their kids in school because they feel it's what is best for their kids. As a general rule, parents want to do what is best for their kids. #openschools
That said, parents are not monsters, so blinded by their desire to do what's best for their kids (school) that they would be willing to callously sacrifice the lives of other human beings (teachers). SCIENCE & EXPERTS say schools are SAFE, teachers are SAFE. #followthescience
This does not mean there is ZERO risk to returning to in-person learning. But the reward - bringing back hope, joy, education, friends, community, normalcy to the millions of children who have suffered so much this year - is almost too great to comprehend. Our children NEED this
Schools all over the world and in roughly half this country have been open safely for months. The kids left behind, languishing in Zoom Prison, staring at screens alone in their rooms, need the grownups to figure out how to get them back into their classrooms, NOW.
