Hugs to all my fellow Rush Babies who grew up listening to Rush in their mom or dad’s car. Thanks to Rush, and my parents, there was never a time growing up when I thought I might become a liberal.
I remember bringing a Rush Limbaugh book to read on a trip to visit liberal family in New England when I was 12, and thinking nothing of it. I found out later the family thought it was “concerning.”
I was still a young conservative at the beginning of the Obama era and being so angry at what Obama was doing and annoyed being around liberal coworkers all day—but I could tune in on my lunch break and laugh and feel like we might survive this as a nation.
After Obama won re-election in 2016 and when Trump lost last year—first I cried and then I tuned into Rush the next day and felt like I wasn’t alone.
Before these last few years of Cancel Culture, Rush never worried about being politically correct and rather he focused on the truth, the mission and being funny. And he never changed after Cancel Culture either.
Blessings to his wife Katherine, @BoSnerdley, @DavidLimbaugh and the rest of Rush’s loved ones. And always, thank you to Rush for paving the way for bold conservative voices and making us laugh and feel hopeful the past 30+ years.
