u have to understand tequila is only made in specific parts of mexico, Jalisco being the most known..when celebs who are not mexi stamp their face on a tequila brand, u are bringing THEM money, not the Mexican company, not the farmers, the rich celebs are getting richer
especially a family that has a history of exploiting workers...why would u enable them to keep exploiting??? also yes tequila is a cultural thing, some families have been farming or working with tequila for GENERATIONS.
the big difference is with alcohols such whiskey/wine is that they don’t have a specific tie to where they can be made..tequila/mezcal is made in one country only.
and even there, they’re localized to a couple of respective states within mexico lmao ur not finding tequila made in sonora and ur not finding mezcal made in nayarit..the states have to be APPROVED to produce these two alcohols
so when u stamp a random boring face on tequila or mezcal it’s a pathetic cash grab attempt since they know these two alcohols are very fucking popular..u see these celebs who have lost public attention so now they want the stable income from the tequila/mezcal industry
look at casamigos (george clooney), it started gaining so much popularity that Diageo (a British company) bought it for $1 billion dollars. even Don Julio (one of the best fr) is distributed in the US by this company. and who do u think keeps this $$ from the us distribution? 
that evil family is worth $2 billion dollars combined, they don’t need more money and they don’t need to be inserting themselves into any non-caucasian things. fuck their tequila & i wish y’all bullied more so they’d stay out of leeching
