My hot take on Rush Limbaugh is he's more responsible than people realize for Hillary losing in 2016. I remember the men in my extended family having him on all the time during the Clinton years, and hearing over and over again how awful this Hillary woman was.
People who were shocked by Trump's victory, I'm guessing, hadn't considered the generation of older white men who in the 90s had listened for hours every day, over and over, about how singularly awful she was.
I have zero recollection of what he disliked about her. Just that she was just the worst.
It's also such a generational shift that we now refer to pseudo-news personalities spouting completely false stuff for hours as disinformation or misinformation, when for a whole generation that was just...right-wing talk radio. That's simply what it was.
