Welcome to @FriendlyHipHop's thread on Kid Cudi's vast discography, himself as a genuine human being, artist, and producer who has helped many of us through life.

Scott Mescudi grew up in Ohio and eventually moved to NYC to pursue his musical career, which has become an incredible legacy, respectively. Cudi is also very close to his mom who he takes a lot of inspiration from!
Cudi's mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi" was released in 2008 and brought us some of his greatest songs ever. He had one of the craziest 3 track runs ever having MOTM (The Anthem), The Prayer, and Day N' Nite together.
I did want to highlight my favorite Cudi track ever real quick, The Prayer. This track has the power to instantly put me into a better mood & the vibes are immaculate.
Cudi's first hit single Day N' Nite was also featured on his first studio album. This track was a blessing as it allowed Kanye West to discover him and eventually sign him onto GOOD Music. He eventually jumped on 808's and did Welcome to Heartbreak with Ye.
In 2009 Kid Cudi dropped one of the most influential & unique albums ever, Man on the Moon. This album is DEEP featuring nightmare songs & more upbeat tracks hence the day and night theme. His experimental production, somber lyrics & Cudis voice made for an incredible first album
MOTM was home to one of the most popular songs ever. Pursuit of Happiness. You're kidding yourself if you've never came across this track in some way or the other, regardless of age. And to have MGMT featured was a crazy addition on its own. Also, anyone seem familiar in the vid?
Cudi followed up MOTM with MOTM2 and he delivered nothing short of quality, creating a space like feel with more laid back tracks & incredible features. Having tracks like Mr. Rager, Mojo So Dope, Erase Me, AND GHOST!, it made for a strong follow up album.
His next project is interesting because he wanted to experiment with rock inspired music with Dot Da Genius & then created WZRD. I'll be honest I'm not a huge fan but I can see why so many people are. This was the stepping stone for the creation of his third studio album, Indicud
Before we get into Indicud, I did want to point out Cudi's work on Good Music Cruel Summer. Did you know his track "Creepers" was supposed to make the original MOTM2 cut?
Indicud, an experimental giant in his discography which was primarily produced by himself with just a few tracks having outside help. It some extreme highs but also some unfortunate lows. My favorite part about Indicud was the energy it brought for touring.
@KidCudi & @kingchip deliver nothing short of QUALITY in their live performances and Just What I Am is one of his most energetic tracks in his catalog for that. Cudi looks so happy in this live video & shouts out to Chip for killing his verse as usual!
1 more track that I wanted to highlight off Indicud is a very short one, Cold Blooded. It was a more than just a quick track, it was Cudi talking to everyone who said he was only good for a hook & he wanted to prove to everyone that he can still rap.
Cudi then spoke about an EP which then became an album and prelude to MOTM3, Satellite Flight. You could hear so much raw emotion on this project which made it very special in his discography. Cudi always struggled with mental health and music was his way of displaying it.
His pain that he was experiencing shifted into what we know as Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven. He tried taking an rock-indie route with psychedelic & poetic vibes. It did not receive the best reviews & doesn't really hold up in comparison to the rest of his discography.
Thankfully Kid Cudi followed that project up with Passion, Pain, & Demon Slaying. In 2016 he brought us a project that has so many great elements of Cudi, especially his melodic humming. Also having Andre 3k, Pharrell, Willow, AND Travis Scott was a nice touch.
Believe it or not, this is actually in my top 3 of Cudi's discography. To think he released this in 2016 & only 1 year after SB2H is incredible.
But on a side note, just feel the energy off this crowd, it would have been a wild tour to attend.

2 years after PP&DS Cudi unites with Kanye West to create one of the most iconic projects, KIDS SEE GHOSTS. Very short & very sweet, every track delivered. In my eyes, it's a perfect 10 & deserves the praise it gets. And how about that ARTWORK by Takashi Murakami
Now before we reach his last album, how can I not mention The SCOTTS? For those of you that didn't know, Travis Scott created his named based off of Kid Cudi, or Scott Mescudi if you will. With that, they created The SCOTTS, a fun single that may have gotten overplayed.
Finally we have reached MOTM3, his most recent body of work & a great album overall. Now that I've given it time to sink it, I can fully appreciate the concept, experience, and the little details of the record. Beyond worthy of being the final album in the trilogy.
Where does that leave us now? Normally he would have an insane tour planned but with Covid it may be awhile till we see that. This project however, created a huge opening for more music in the future from Cudi which we can expect.
