Here's a ¶ from Greenwald's latest Sicknick trutherism.

For him, violence appears to only "count" if 1) it intends the injuries sustained and 2) it results in death.

Greenwald has exhibits no evidence of having read a single charging document (he links secondary sources even when he claims to be offering proof of prosecutors "admitting" something).

That's important, bc his claims is that the Sicknick fire extinguisher story was made up.

Had Glenn done some actual reporting rather than making shit up on Substack, he would know that there are three references to fire extinguishers being used in confrontations with cops.

One even closely resembles the story abt Sicknick.

Robert Sanford is accused of throwing a fire extinguisher and hitting three different cops in the head. One of those cops was not wearing a helmet. We only know the name of one of those cops.

We also know multiple cases involve people deliberately bringing items chat could be used as clubs -- multiple cases of baseball bats, flag poles, handles, police batons, plus one hockey stick -- and deliberately using them against cops.

One guy punched some cops, went away, and came back with a bat. Glenn claims that deliberate assault like this only matters if someone is deliberately killed.

Meanwhile, NONE of these items used as weapons described by detailed interviews with cops have shown it up into charging documents yet.

One of the known assaults against a known officer -- the use of a Taser against Mike Fanone, which resulted in a heart attack -- hasn't been charged yet.

There were around 139 assaults on cops.

Does that mean Sicknick was killed by a fire extinguisher rather than any of the other weapons used against cops that day? No! Does it mean he died of natural causes 24 hours after having been assaulted?

That's hypothetically POSSIBLE. It's not the most likely explanation.

For Glenn's claim that this story was FALSE to be true, you'd have to prove that NYT did NOT have two sources who told them, believing it to be true, that Sicknick had died from one of the documented attacks using a fire extinguisher.

Note that paragraph STARTS by saying it wasn't yet clear how he died.

The lead of the story is still the most likely explanation -- that something happened to Sicknick that ultimately killed him.

What is the case is that 139 cops are claimed to have been assaulted, at least 3 of those exchanges involved fire extinguishers, the names just two of the people involved in the fire extinguishers are known, and the MAJORITY of those assaults have not been described publicly.

What is ALSO the case is that there were a slew of things that weren't clear in the first week after the attack.

Those include:
1) Why intel didn't warn of the attack
2) Why new helmets hadn't been distributed to cops
3) Where the fuck the top cops were

4) How multiple cops, not just Sicknick, got killed
5) Whether any cops assisted the rioters
6) What did the President know and when did he know it

THE ONLY ONE OF THOSE THINGS that Glenn gives a fuck about--the ONLY thing that was confusing at first that Glenn insists was a Deep State conspiracy to do something bad--is how Sicknick (and Sicknick alone) was killed.

EVERYTHING WAS CONFUSING. The only thing Glenn thinks is important is whether the rampant deliberate violence against cops included a deliberate attempt to murder someone rather than a deliberate attempt to hurt them.

[Frankly, the words of the rioters make it clear a good many of them INTENDED to murder cops and INTENDED to murder Nancy Pelosi and INTENDED to murder Mike Pence. But Glenn wouldn't know that bc he's not reading the docs that lay this out.]

Where the focus SHOULD be is on the complicity of those engaging in this trutherism.
