Attitudes around women's sexuality, pregnancy, childbearing, abortion are fundamentally abt the social control of women— until we understand this is part of 1,000s of years of men controlling women's behavior, then we cannot understand what is happening today.

On today's ep of @OrdEquality we interview Prof Randall Balmer, expert in evangelicals, about the *real* origins of the religious right.
They’ll tell you it was abortion, but that's HOGWASH. It was segregation. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/05/religious-right-real-origins-107133/

We talk to Rabbi @TheRaDR:
"I, a Jew, do not want Christian theology to be deciding what kind of healthcare access I, or anyone in my community or in the country gets... Judaism says abortion is permitted & sometimes required." https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lets-go-to-church/id1492330633?i=1000509518559

@kateyzeh of @RCRChoice's perspective on @OrdEquality:
For me, the central story is this gospel story in Mark of a hemorrhaging woman. This woman [takes] what she needs, even without it being within the bounds of what was socially acceptable.
Jesus affirms her for doing that.

@drcarijackson of @RCRChoice on @OrdEquality:
