I’ve seen Germaine Greer’s lecture at Cardiff Uni being brought up as an example of the cancel culture Gavin Williamson is decrying which is funny given they’re talking about me and 11 mates handing out flyers before the lecture.
That was it. I emailed Cardiff Uni asking if they’d consider making it a panel or having a robust Q&A section. We had a petition to indicate the number of concerned parties. We handed out suggested questions and information prior to the lecture.
And for that my picture was published on the front page of the Daily Mail calling me a fascist lmao
Isn’t that cancel culture? Calling a random 24 year old a fascist in a national publication for protesting?

Let’s be real, cancel culture is just when you don’t venerate rich people enough for their liking.
Not only did they call me a fascist but they called me a student and more egregiously they called me British.

It’s kinda funny but it’s important to know that most of us protesting were not students. It was a public lecture. That’s why we were there.
Yet every single media outlet I spoke to continued to call me a student after they were corrected.

That’s because “student cancel culture” was exactly the flames every outlet was hoping to stoke, despite it not even being remotely true.
It’s manufacturing consent. There’s limited options for stopping the public protesting things, more when it comes to stopping students.
