Wings over Scotland is a rare thing.

True journalism, which makes a difference - whether you agree with it or not. The thrill of knowing there is no filter.

Wings reminds me of The Week from the 1930s. Done on a shoestring with a mimeograph by Claud Cockburn.
Cockburn left The Times to set it up. It went to an initial group of influential people in London and then took off. It exposed appeasement & coined the term ‘Cliveden Set’

Everyone read it, but few admitted doing so. Key sources knew Cockburn would print what no one else wld
Cockburn also started Private Eye’s role re investigative reporting. Before that the Eye was just a lampoon.

Cockburn was brought in as guest editor for one issue which changed everything.
An amazing legacy to this day. Exposing public wrong doing and hypocrisy.

Wings is in the same mould. And currently outshines the Eye in one key respect. Wings is fearlessly exposing Stonewall, SNP and the trans cult. The Eye has almost nothing by comparison.
Ian Hislop’s gutlessness this score is remarkable, not least when @FrancisWheen de facto deputy editor knows the full horror of what is happening but can still only slip in the odd item about the biggest capture of our institutions by a cult ever
So - all hail Stuart Campbell and Wings over Scotland

Long may you soar over Scottish politics and defend the rights of women, children, lesbians & gay men

And remind us all what real journalism looks like
