Why did you become a teacher?
Mine isn't as romantic as others.

I was in a bit of a rut, working in a factory which I mostly enjoyed but the money was naff and I was going nowhere.
I was doing voluntary football coaching at the time. Loved it. But there weren't many jobs going and for those that did, there were people much better at football and coaching than I was going for them.
I bought this book and realised that seeing kids improve and apply things I'd taught them was what I really got from coaching. So I looked into teaching and that was that. 8 years in schools, 2 years doing supply/interventions and tuition.
