Living with #LongCovid

I've now moved into my 12th month with Long Covid. In that time I've had asthma attacks (new to me), lung pain, cough, arthritic-like pain in my hands, joint pain all over, occasional headaches, fatigue and aching muscles. I've been lucky to keep my/
...mental energy and concentration as many people have lost the ability to read.

I was fit and healthy 12 months ago without any chronic health conditions. I'm a farmer in his 30s and used to play football twice a week, interval training once a week, healthy diet and all that./
The few months after Covid meant I had shortness of breath, lung pain, and couldn't do very much at all physically. My energy levels were lower but not as low as now. In the autumn I was able to work hard for a couple of months - and probably pushed myself too hard. /
Too hard relative to the previous few months, not relative to my usual working ability. I was still in pain every evening after spending days doing building work.

I relapsed (really common with #longcovid) the beginning of December I've hardly been able to do anything. /
I can manage about 2-3 hours of physical work although that is to much recently. I've switched to taking care of our toddler more, so that my wife can now do more of the farm work. 2.5 months since I've been able to do a full day's work, painkillers most days, pain every day. /
I have friends in similar and worse conditions than myself also suffering #longcovid.

Reading about the tragic death of @EdRooksby was a bit of a shock because he was suffering so badly with it in his last days. A fit man in his 40s.
It's estimated that 5-10% of those that have had covid have developed #longcovid and yet there's very little talk about in the UK. It's seemingly not factored into decision making.

To all those covid deniers/skeptics/minimisers: fuck off.
To the UK gov: fuck off
And to those people being like: covid 'only' affects [INSERT MYTH]: Just stop. There's a shit ton of research out there, spend an hour reading that instead of Facebook memes.
