Players just like any other field in thw world do need money, they'd go for it whenever they have a chance to, the calls for unpatriotic approach is stupid. You don't shout such slogans on people going for professions elsewhere outside their own country. Its fine .(2)
But what it does to the game... problem is not what's happening, problem is in the scheduling and old approach of handling the matters itself. With the introduction of money, franchises, leagues, the cricket structure overall needs change. A football kind of. (3)
With almost all the nations now having a league of their own (or domestic tournaments at least), there should be a specific window for international friendly matches and leagues should be played throughout.

Should bring the boards on board to play the leagues 9 months, have matches over the weekends, would bring greater viewership and have less fuss about boards not having players for international matches. (5)
One player should play for one team of one league and if he's to go to another team, there should be inter league transfer possible, you dont see ronaldo playing for both madrid and juventus. (6)
Have international matches in the rest of 3 months. Have a world cup aftwr 4 years in that time period. Do whatever in that time slot. (7)
