I need y'all to know that the nuclear reactor shutdown in Texas is a fairly boring incident from a safety perspective. The reactor turned itself off and the sensor (sensing line) that turned off due to cold is not safety related. The reactor can't make electricity, but it is safe
It's an extreme oversimplification, but you can think of a nuclear power plant as having two parts: the systems required to keep the reactor cool, and the systems that are used to make electricity but aren't safety-related. The sensing line that got cold is in the latter system
I talk about the reason why the reactor shut down a little bit more here https://twitter.com/nuclearkatie/status/1361776682252730372
More about the Texas reactor shutdown. I have not seen verified reports about pipes freezing, AFAIK it was just a sensor failure. "Cold weather failure of pressure sensing lines causing feedwater pump trips" may have been misconstrued as "pipe froze" as info moved around
