others have pointed out that "red" states like Texas have plenty of Democratic voters, leftists, non-white and LGBT people, but I would like to mention

fiercely

that the keystone idea in concepts like "universal health care" and "universal housing" is UNIVERSAL

no one suffering in the cold tonight deserves it.

I am so angry it's hard to think sometimes, at the structures that have allowed health care and climate and social welfare to get to these concurrent crisis points, at the people who enrich themselves at the expense of us all.

but I am for health care, housing, food, water and safety for everyone. prison abolition and open borders for everyone. even people who hate the idea of people like me, people who will vote against my right to exist, given the opportunity.

otherwise what's the fucking point?
