So here’s a thread of Mexican tequila brands you should support instead of Kendall Jenner’s, Nick Jonas or Dwayne Johnson’s.
I’m going to talk about Tequila made in Jalisco specifically. To start, there’s an organization that regulates how tequila is made. Tequila can only be made with “Tequilana Weber,” but we locally call it “Agave Azul.”
In total, 11 states in the country can produce tequila, but it is mostly made in the highlands of Jalisco. Our soil is rich, and it must properly be taken care of. From the beginning of the process to even after. It can take around 6 years for the agave to grow.
Once it’s grown, we begin with a process which we call harvest the plant, and we start “jimandolo” (I don’t know how to say that in English. In the end, we only conserve la piña with is what we call the heart of the agave.
That was just a very, very brief introduction on all it takes. These celebrities certainly don’t know about this process at all. For my next tweets, I’ll recommend local brands, and I’ll state where they are made. Hopefully you can support local Mexican brands.

Starting strong with a classic:
Don Julio.
The brand is locally made in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco Mexico.

I’m leaving the thread there because I would seriously never end. I hope you guys can support local Mexican brands. We would indeed be grateful for your support. Please come to Jalisco. You won’t regret it.
I’ll leave you with pictures of jimadores.

P.S: If you ever come to Jalisco, you can always call one of the tequileras I mentioned above. You can ask them for a tour! They do tours seasonally, so hopefully, you’re here for that time of the year. Most of them have translators, and they love foreigners. (wear a mask though)
Update: I deleted Patron (and others) from the list because I was informed it was own by a white person. Last time I went to Atotonilco somebody mentioned it was owned by _____ family name so I didn’t do more research. That’s honestly my mistake.
