/ A Thread about NFT Patronage

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed @TwerkyPepe commenting on my posts, and posting his funny twerky gif's. Each time I saw one of these variations I would laugh, as I found them to be pretty funny.
/ So I decided to reach out to him, and asked him if he wanted to collab and do one of my ape. He accepted and began to make a version for our drop together. When it came time for the drop, I tweeted about it a few hours before.
/ He immediately sold out of all his old drops that hadn't been sold up until that point. About $7-8K in sales in about 20 mins. BEFORE our collab even went live. He wrote to me to tell him that I changed his life. I felt good that I was able to help him out. It gets better.
/ Our drop sold out in 10 mins, the fastest drop up until that point. He gained notoriety and got new collectors for his future drops. He again thanked me, telling me he had tears in his eyes bc of the success of the collaboration. It gets better.
/ After another 48 hours, he was approached by an investor who wanted to invest in the @TwerkyPepe brand, and buy 20% at a $1 million valuation. Today, he did a drop that sold out in 3 seconds.

So what are the implications of this?
/ For the first time in the digital era, creators have an easy way to get paid for the content they create. Before NFT's, if someone wanted to create picture, it would just be screen shotted and sent around. Why would that be?
/ Because, as the purchaser of the product, I previously had no proof before, that I was purchasing the original piece by the original creator. But with the rise of NFT's, I can see that the NFT I bought was made by the original creator.
/ The relationship between the collector and artist is changing. We are entering the world where digital ownership is important. By paying the artist for their original work, patrons are ensuring that the artist can keep creating the work they enjoy.
/ So when you see an original NFT that you enjoy, support that creator. You may be ensuring that you will be able to enjoy more of their creations down the road.
