2/ forte is its soft power and attractiveness to young people all over the world. That positive image is in danger of collapsing, destroyed by the disastrous posture of an outdated political leadership with no clue about global visibility as well as digitally challenged.

3/ They do not understand that it is not possible to have at the same time an introvert mode of functioning, arrogantly male and absurdly derogatory towards women, including their own MP colleagues plus cut off from mainstream Japanese society and public diplomacy ambitions.
4/ With social networks, under the magnifying lenses of the #tokyo2021 Olympics, cannot escape global visibility. For the sake of its future role, people in charge should be made to understand that this challenge is of vital importance.

5/ Finally, I am sad to see that at the forthcoming JIIA Global forum the most important round tables will be men’s only. A situation now unseen in the democratic world. Once again, this is the global image of that is at stake.
