Presentation 20 minutes, Clarifying Questions, 20 minutes of Public Comment, Board Deliberation, Summary of Key Guidance "WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS"
"we have not authority over zoning, parking etc etc" "we are just here to make it prettier" (paraphrase)

There are 65 participants in the meeting -- 58 marked as "attendees" -- which is a large turnout from my 5+ years of experience going to these meetings
Right now we have technical difficulties:
"massing is slender tower which allows light to the ground"
I want to know that if when a builder says that they have changed the scale of the massing or consolidated things if that means we are BUILDING LESS HOUSING. We need every single downtown project to be building the full amount not pre-downzoning itself. UGH.

The architect is saying super nice stuff to the design review board to help smooth things over. I always feel sorry for them in this setting. There's this really 'begging' tone that is undignified in these meetings that I have always hated.

lots of discussions about "respecting existing adjacent neighbors" (I HATE THIS SENTENCE)
"Departures" -- a technical word for asking permission to do things a tiny bit different than what is supposed to happen
hearing about the famous "wedding cake setbacks" which always makes me queasy and sad because that usually means less homes than are legally allowed

Now we are hearing from a cranky sounding neighbor that says the neighborhood design guidelines are saying this is 50% taller than the immediate buildings "this it violates the guidelines" omg this guy is mad this has 186 apartments -- DUDE THAT IS PEOPLE THAT NEED HOUSING

WOW the design review wants CENSORSHIP of the comments --- hey @LewisforSeattle @CMDanStrauss @CMLGonzalez @CMTMosqueda .... is it ok for volunteer design review to cut off public comment?
@ericacbarnett @heidigroover --- the design review board members are cutting off comments that are prodensity that are off topic but not anti density that are off topic
this is ridiculous. nimbys have brought in DOGS ---- DOGS that are LOSING their SUNLIGHT to design reivew but if a YIMBY wants to talk about how they are upset about this process they get shut down?
