This was the thread I was looking for. Most of us from the cold states have lived through Scary Winter Nights when the furnace has gone out &/or there's no power.

Biggest winter dangers throughout my lifetime are either fire or CO2 poisoning as folks try to warm up spaces w/o electricity. Don't go to sleep with stuff on. And be careful as you can about anything flammable.
