So what’s going on with our power situation and ᴡʜʏ is Texas struggling worse than any other state?

Texan pride, ladies and gentlemen. Pride is the horse’s dung.
Not wanting to deal with Federal regulations, Texas isn’t part of the US power grid. Instead, we have ERCOT. A name I didn’t know existed until last night. So what do we have?
A state drastically unprepared for winter conditions and a power grid just as unprepared. Many are dying; peoples, pets, indoors and outdoors, sheltered or not.

Continue to lift everyone up in prayer.
I say if you can stay at a friend’s or family’s, do it and bundle up. Pull out all your candles. Don’t open the fridge unless you know ᴇxᴀᴄᴛʟʏ what you need. Conserve water if you can.
If you have a roof over your head, great, that’s better than being outside, homeless, and dying. You have blankets, great, that’s better than freezing to death—because many have frozen to death already downtown and around the state. I’m not talking just animals and pets either.
Even our first responders are without power and struggling. Our mayor doesn’t have power either. It’s not just you or your neighbor.
If you’re a small city, my heart goes out to you. I know you’re running low on water, I know your reservoirs are depleting, and it hurts to know I can’t help you. My prayers are with you and for you, and there’s no one mightier than the God of all creation.
Every chance you have with the power on, charge phone batteries if you have them and heat up water in pots, hot pots, or even coffee. Be prepared and set. If you have a fireplace, remember to use paper. Wood isn’t the only thing that burns.
Pray for one another because the lives of many depend upon it. God bless you, keep you, and may He send each of you supernatural warmth and shelter. God have mercy on us all.
If you take shelter in your car for warmth, don’t stay in there for long! Several have died due to carbon monoxide poisoning. I know it’s hard, but limit yourself. Do 30mins-an hour, come inside, and pace yourself. Or, charge your phone and come back inside once it’s charged.

The known count is now up to 14. That’s in surrounding cities alone. I can’t find the article I saw, so this is a different case from the one I referenced above. https://twitter.com/nbcnews/status/1361695350646583296
